TheSingingContest Itwasthedayofthesingingcontest.Groupsofkidshadpracticed theirsongsforweeks.Ted,onegroup’sleadsinger,wasworriedthat hewouldsingbadly.Rightbeforehisgroupwastosing,hehadtosit downbecausehefeltdizzy. “ShouldIsingthelead instead?”Ted’sfriendMarco asked.Tedalmostsaidyes.But heknewthathecouldhitthe notesbetterthanMarco.Ted felthehadtodothisforthe group.Soheshookhishead. Thefirstthreegroupssangfast songsthathadeveryoneclapping.Tedhopedhisgroup’ssongwould beexcitingenoughtogetthejudgestochoosethem. ThenTed’sgroupwasup.Theywalkedontothestage.Tedpressedthe taperecorderbutton,themusicstarted,andtheotherfourkidsbegan singing.Ted’sthroatfeltdry.Thenhispartcame,andhejoinedin. Whenthesongfinished,allthepeopleintheaudienceclapped.But theyhadclappedforallthegroups!Whatwouldthejudgesdecide?
